Celebrating its 40^th year of being a high fashion stylish hip brand Cuggi (its original name) was started in 1969 by Jacky Taranto who originally began selling his distinctive designs out if suitcases.  It made its debut in the US when millions of Americans saw these colorful knit sweaters worn by Bill Cosby on the Cosby Show.  The name was changed to Coogi in 1987 and the Coogi Sweater became a popular high fashion staple in Hip Hop fashion when Biggie Smalls wore and rapped about this unique brand in various songs on his debut album in 1995. It died down in the late nineties but was revitalized in recent years and now includes Coats, Polos, T-Shirts, Jeans , Shorts , Women’s, kids, sneakers and hats.
